I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not as a victim fighting to escape my chains;
I am a warrior who fights as a victor with a reason for my peace
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not to secure the love I so desperately need;
I am a warrior who fights in the security of the love I’ve already received
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not to gain acceptance;
I am a warrior who fights because I am accepted
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not for my worth;
I am a warrior who fights from the place of my worth
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not for hope;
I am a warrior who fights because I have hope
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not for a reason to live;
I am a warrior who fights because I have a reason to live
I am a warrior
A warrior who fights not for freedom at last
I am a warrior who fights from the freedom already bought
I am a warrior
And I fight
Not from a place of insecurity, not to achieve or secure what I need
I fight not to win what I want, nor to escape what I know I deserve
But I fight
I fight because I believe I’ve been given the goodness I don’t deserve
I fight from the abundance of hope
I fight because I accept the gift of grace
I fight from the assurance of infinite love
I am a warrior
I am a warrior who fights because LOVE is fighting for me
